Overall Master Plan49 viewsThe Master Plan for the Fairport Baptist Homes proposes renovation plus new construction. The existing campus consists of a 1914 building, a 1964 HRF and a 1972 HRF and SNF. The current facility is primarily designed for the well elderly; 96 of the 196 beds are HRF and the remaining are older-style SNF.
Resident rooms surround the main living area in each household. The goal is to make residents’ transition from home to long-term care facility much easier.
This plan calls for a new entry to the facility and a new 72-bed RHCF with three neighborhoods, each having 23 or 24 beds and two households. Renovations and additions to an existing RHCF would create three 42-bed neighborhoods each having four households plus a new community medical facility with 30-registrant adult day health care, child day care and geriatric medical centers.

New Cafe and Shop Addition76 viewsThe needs and requirements of the elderly population at The Friendly Home were the major drivers in the design of a new Gift Shop and Café to reflect a turn of the century Soda Fountain Shop.
The addition was constructed within an existing enclosed courtyard, used as seasonal activity space. The tranquil and secure atmosphere of the court is further enhanced by specialty gardens. The Café addition has enabled the residents of the Home to enjoy the courtyard all year round.
Completed while with a previous firm.

Master Plan First Floor68 viewsThe Friendly Home is a 204-bed long-term care facility consisting of 80 skilled nursing (SNF) and 124 health-related (HRF) level of care beds. The oldest portion of the building, constructed in 1918, provides only HRF beds. The 1970 building provides HRF, SNF, and Alzheimer’s (special care /SCU) beds. Two initial scenarios were developed and presented to the Management Team, including the HRF, SNF and SCU groups, administration and the architect.
Once these scenarios and alternatives were reviewed, the Master Plan was developed in greater detail as follows: proposed site plan, unit configurations and bed counts, single versus double room mix, location and mix of SNF, SCU and HRF beds, square footage allocation, location of utility and support spaces, new construction and renovation cost, projected total project cost and construction schedule and phasing. This project’s primary goal was to upgrade most of the Home's HRF beds to SNF level of care. Older facilities across the state are facing this need to upgrade in order to compete in the long-term care marketplace. Sep 18, 2006
